There’s a new spot in town on the block in La Mesa’s vibrant downtown district with Curbside Eatery & Drinkery, which debutted mid-October. This much anticipated, 2200 sq. ft. social restaurant and bar concept will celebrate elevated gastropub fare and handcrafted cocktails in an open-air environment with wraparound curbside patios and garage-style windows connecting the interior with the fresh air and action of the surrounding neighborhood.
“I am overflowing with excitement to bring this new dream to life in my neighborhood,” says Partner and GM Jonathan Baron, who was born, raised and presently lives in La Mesa. He also owns the successful Regal Bar, the number one social club in town.
Seasoned Executive Chef Lance Repp is bringing his original recipes to Curbside Eatery and Drinkery, cultivating a menu of honest flavors, fresh components and upscale American fare. Previously the creative mind behind the University Club atop Symphony Towers, Chef Repp brings culinary experience gathered from the age of fifteen to his food, bringing life to local and seasonal ingredients.
Curbside Eatery & Drinkery will specialize in signature twists on classic libations ranging from mojitos and sangrias to champagne drinks and unique wines. Local craft beer will also be available on tap with Happy Hour specials offered throughout the week at this local watering hole.
Their innovative menu will use local ingredients to create Fresh Ahi Tuna Poke, Short Rib Nachos, Corn Bread Calamari and Chicken Tomahawks for starters along with innovative salads, such as their BLAT Salad with arugula, crispy bacon, tomato, avocado, grilled sourdough and a light tomato vinaigrette. Creatively crafted sandwiches including the Grilled Steak and the Blackened Ahi will please, and Curbside’s gourmet burgers promise a little something for everyone. Evening fare will feature sliders, tostadas and small plates hand-crafted from flavors around the globe, complete with decadent desserts and children’s menus.
